Concertstück pour Violoncelle & Orchestra

By Juliette Folville | Edited by Ronald Krentzman | Duration: ca. 16 min.

Structured around classical sonata procedures, the Concertstück is basically a concerto of three movements telescoped into one, in the tradition of Liszt and Saint-Saëns. The work was met with great enthusiasm, being praised by a critic of the Guide Musical as ‘attractive, full of exquisite episodes, and remarkably well written for the instrument’.
